Stella Mathewson, 88, Enjoyed Playing Cards and Bingo

She was born October 27, 1924 in Lorain, and was a lifelong resident.
Stella was a parishioner of Nativity B.V.M. Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was past president of the Amherst Eagles, and belonged to the Lorain Auxiliary Police Dept. in the 70’s. , and enjoyed playing cards and bingo.
She is survived by sons Craig A. (Mary Jo) Mathewson, and David T. (Terri) Mathewson both of Lorain, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, along with a sister Julia Thomas of Lady Lake, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband Norman L. in 1964, a son Norman W. in 1998, and sisters Kate Striker, Mary Frolick, Helen Naymik, and Anna Bezgatzki, and her parents Theodore and Rose Jazyk.
Friends may call Thursday from 9:30 AM till 10:30 AM in Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home 2920 Broadway, Lorain. Closing prayers will begin at 10:30 AM in the funeral home followed by 11 AM Funeral Mass at Nativity B.V.M. Church. Fr. Gerald J. Keller will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
