Donald F. Gregg, 80, U.S. Navy Veteran

Mr. Gregg was born in Lorain on July 11, 1932, the son of the late George A. and Cora (Johnson Dice) Gregg. He was a graduate of Lorain High School, class of 1950. He was an US Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War era. He earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

He worked in the maintenance department at Multifoods in Elyria for 10 years before his retirement in 1998. He had also worked in maintenance for the American Standard Co., Mullers, Fruehauf Trailers and the former B. F. Goodrich Co.

Mr. Gregg enjoyed trains, airplane models, watching birds and squirrels. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren and Sammy, his dog.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Margaret J. (nee McCune) Gregg, daughters Donna E. (Dale) Szakats, Tamara J. (Randy "Chip" ) Reisinger, both of New Jersey, Kaye L. (Ken) Lukacz of Lorain, Sue (Keith) Benczi of Elyria, sons James W. (Deanna) Gregg of Lorain, Staff Sgt. Michael F. Gregg, of Hawaii, Jeff R. Rider of Vermilion, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Friends may cal on Thursday, June 20, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.

Graveside Services will be in the Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, 369 State Route 68, Rochester, PA 15074 at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2013 with full military honors provided by the Beaver County Special Unit-Military Honors Detail.
