Alexander P. Stitt, 76, Member of UAW Local, John W. Barkely Masonic Lodge, and Northcoast R.F.C.
Alexander P. �Alex� Stitt, age 76 of North Ridgeville, passed away at his home Saturday morning, June 22, 2013 following a long illness.
He was born in Glasgow, Scotland. He had resided in North Ridgeville for over 50 years having moved from Cleveland.
Mr. Stitt worked as a Millwright for Ford Motor Co., Cleveland Casting Plant for 35 years, retiring in 1994.
He was a member of UAW Local 1250, the John W. Barkley Masonic Lodge # 621 in North Olmsted and the Northcoast R.F.C.
His hobbies included reading, traveling, throwing darts, dancing and most of all socializing with friends and family. He volunteered his time at St. John Medical Center for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years Margaret "Maggie" Stitt, daughter, Laura (Ellen) Stitt, son, Allan (Maria) Stitt, both of Denver, CO, son-in-law, Chuck (Debra) Linek, of Westerville, Ohio, 6 grandchildren, Madison, Morgan, Aarika, Gillian, Katie and Mariah, sister, Phyllis Snadden of Scotland and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Kimberly L. Linek in 1998, father, John Stitt, mother, Sophie (Park) Stitt, and his Brother, John Stitt.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Sunday June 30, 2013 at the Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road, N. Ridgeville, where a Masonic Service will be conducted at 7:30 PM Sunday. Funeral services will take place 11 AM Monday July 1st at Sugar Ridge Baptist Church 36600 Sugar Ridge Road N. Ridgeville. Rev. Michael Manosky, Pastor will officiate.
Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
