Robert C. Peters, 86, U.S. Navy Veteran
Robert C. Peters, 86, of Lorain passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013 at Mercy New Life Hospice Center at St. Joseph in Lorain following a long illness.
Mr. Peters was born in Lorain on July 25, 1926, the son of the late Wright and Viola M ( nee Fisher ) Peters. He was a 1944 graduate of Lorain High School and graduated from Ohio University with a degree in engineering. He was a US Navy veteran.
He worked as a customer service representative at Pearl Golf Course in Ocean Isle Beach, NC. He also owned and operated Peters, Inc., a real estate magazine publishing firm, in Buffalo, NY, and worked US Steel and at P.C. Campana.
Mr. Peters was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling and when younger was involved with the Boy Scout program. Mr. Peters lived for a while in Pittsburgh, Buffalo and Ocean Isle, North Carolina before returning home in 2007.
He is survived by a daughter, Susan A Mitock, a son Robert J. (Anne) Peters, all of Lorain, grandchildren Joseph Peters, Mathew Peters, Jennifer Yee, Joanne Peters, Robert Peters, and great grandchildren Mathew Peters II, Katelynn Peters, Kendal Fleming and Jacob Wright.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard W. Peters in 2012.
The family will receive friends at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain on Saturday, June 29, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until a memorial service at 1:00 p.m.
Burial will be private.
