Malvine Karhusz, 97, Enjoyed Cooking & Baking

She was born January 15, 1916 in Lorain and was a lifelong resident.
Malvine is a member of the Church of St. Peter, and is a former member of St. Michaels Byzantine Church. She enjoyed baking, especially for her church and in younger years for a fire department near her childhood home on Elyria Ave. She also enjoyed boating, fishing, cooking, sewing, crocheting and photography.
She is survived by her daughter Marcia (Joseph) Kukucka of Lorain, 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, a brother John Elles of Mexico Missouri, many nieces and nephews, and a son David Karhusz.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Joseph in 1999, her parents John and Helen (Siska) Elles, a brother Bert Elles, a sister Irene Meyers and a niece Nancy Meyers.
Friends may call Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home 2920 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be Saturday beginning with closing prayers at 9:00 AM in the funeral home followed by 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial in the Church of St. Peter. Fr. Craig Hovanek will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
