Marge Lafon, 92, Will be Deeply Missed

Marge was born on August 24, 1920 in St. Joseph, Missouri and was the daughter of Ray and Grace Pickard. Mrs. Lafon graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma; she moved to Lorain with her three children in 1956. She had worked for U.S. Steel retiring in 1985. Marge regularly attended the Community United Methodist Church in Elyria with her son Bob and grandson Malachi Stevens.

Ms. Lafon is survived by her three children Grace Sas, Robert Lafon, and Margie (Lafon) Giordanengo and husband Bill, along with seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Juanita Bolch, and by brothers Ivan, Kenneth, and Ray Pickard.

Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will take place on Monday at 10:30 .a.m. in the Community United Methodist Church, 680 North Abbe Road in Elyria. Reverend Donald Lare, Pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
