Barbara A. Carroll, 57, Enjoyed Spending Time with Grandchildren

Carroll, (nee Scott), age 57, of Lorain, passed away in the presence of her family on the evening of August 10, 2013 while a patient at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph. She was born in Lorain on March 27, 1956 and remained a life-long resident of the city. Barbara attended Southview High School and went on to graduate from the nursing program at Lorain County Community College.

She was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse for the past twenty years and had most recently been affiliated with First Choice Medical Staffing.

She was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers who enjoyed spending every available free moment with her grandchildren.

She is survived by daughters Kimberley Kenney (Michael) of San Clemente, California, Tina Serrano of Lorain, and twin daughters Brooke Carroll (Jon) and Allyson Carroll (Albert) also both of Lorain. She is also survived by her son Mark Serrano (Ginger) of Fishersville, Virginia and twelve grandchildren. In addition, she leaves sisters Shelia Griffith (Darv) of Lorain and Audrey Irizarry (Edwin) residing in Kentucky, brothers Ron Scott (Raeann) of Lorain, Ken Scott (Sue) of Sheffield Lake, and Randy Scott (Tammy) of Oberlin, her former husband Kenneth Carroll of Lorain, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Elden and Mary (nee Staveski) Scott, and by her step-father Charles �Shorty� Puckett.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral services at 7:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Reverend Alana Lucyk-Kelley, pastor of Magyar United Church of Christ in Elyria will officiate.
