Helen B. Nickoloff, 97, Enjoyed Baking, Cooking, and Gardening

Photo of Helen B. Nickoloff Helen B. Nickoloff (nee Mrozowski), 97, of Lorain, passed away peacefully Saturday August 17, 2013 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain.

She was born August 30, 1915 in Bridgeport, Ohio and moved to Lorain at the age of 3.

Helen was employed at Goodall Co, Printz & Bederman as a Seamstress. She was also employed for the Lorain County Child Support Department for 11 years, retiring in 1977.

Helen loved to bake, cook and garden. She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and St. Theresa Society. While she was a resident of Anchor Lodge Nursing Home in Lorain, she was voted Queen in 2011.

She is survived by her sons Thomas Nickoloff (Carol) of Lorain and Leonard Nickoloff (Kaye) of Vermilion, daughter-in-law Kathleen Nickoloff of Lorain, 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Richard Nickoloff, parents John and Josephine Mrozowski (nee Detz), brother Stanley Mroski, and sisters Anna Czech and Waldreen �Pudgie� Koscho.

The family will receive friends Tuesday 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 am in the funeral chapel, followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Robert J. Glepko, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
