Teri Lynn Putra, 48, Will be Deeply Missed

Teri Lynn Putra (nee Stevens), age 48, of Lorain, passed away on the evening of Saturday August 24, 2013 while a patient at Mercy Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Sistersville, West Virginia on February 13, 1965 and had been a resident of Lorain for the past twelve years coming from Akron.

Teri was a 1983 graduate of Brunswick High School and went on to attend Akron University where she majored in Psychology and frequently earned recognition on the Dean’s List.

She had most recently been employed as a Chemical Dependency Program Coordinator for the Brunswick City School District. She was also instrumental in writing the grant that launched the Twelve Step Club which has served Medina County for more than twenty years.

Teri is survived by her son, Anton, residing in Sandusky, her mother Emily Pearce (nee Daner) of Huron, her step-mother Dianna Stevens of Paden City, West Virginia, brothers Mark Stevens of Singapore, David S. Pearce and Donald Pearce both residing in North Carolina, Douglas Pearce of Delaware, and sisters Karen Gerk of Brunswick, Dottie Santini and Diana Pearce both of Philadelphia, and Trish Jones of Amherst. She also leaves sixteen nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jared McCauley, by her father Terry Stevens, and by her step-father David Pearce.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until the time of memorial services at 8:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Reverend Daniel O. Divis, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial contributions to the Twelve Step Club, 1480 Pearl Road, Brunswick, OH 44212-3470.
