Gregory Gabryszewski, 64, U.S. Navy Veteran

Gregory Joseph “Gabby” Gabryszewski, 64, of Snellville, Georgia, entered into rest on Friday, August 30, 2013, after a gallant fight to cancer.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Morris McKenzie Gabryszewski; sister, Diane Gabryszewski of Lorain, OH; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carol and Garry Vaneman of Saint Augustine, FL; two grandchildren, Sophia and Ethan Wetzel of Sisters, OR; two step-daughters, Laura Catherine McKenzie of Macon, GA and Claire Elizabeth McKenzie of Atlanta, GA; aunts, Virginia Stephanchick of Huron, OH and Cecilia Falencki of Lorain, OH; father-in-law, James Joseph Morris, Sr. of Dalton, GA; sister-in-law, Karen Morris Orr (Rick) of Atlanta, GA; brother-in-law, James Joseph Morris, Jr. (Karen) of Cary, NC; sister-in-law, Jodi Gallant Morris of Dalton, GA; Greg’s valued companion “Scooper” cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Jean Lazration Gabryszewski; his parents, Leonard J. and Marie Gabryszewski; mothers-in-law, Mary Jane Lazration and Charlotte Walter Morris, brother-in-law, John Walter Morris.

Greg was born on June 1, 1949 in Lorain; attended St. Vincent de Paul Grade School in Elyria and graduated from Clearview High School in Lorain. He was a Jet Mechanic in the US Navy serving with Top Gun pilots aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. He began his career in 1972 at the Nordson Amherst, Ohio facility then transferred to the Nordson Atlanta facility. He received his Bachelor of Aerospace Degree in 1990 from Georgia Tech while working full time. Greg was granted sixteen patents during his career. He retired from his position as a Nordson Global Product Line Manager in June, 2013.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 7, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel with Minister Harold Savage officiating with Navy Military Honors rendered. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 9, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 41295 North Ridge Rd., Elyria Twp with Rev. Donald Dunson, pastor, officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 10:00 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Amherst with Military Honors conducted by the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #20 of Lorain.
