Lillian Mary Rak, 93, Enjoyed Bowling and Reading

She was born in Lorain and had resided in North Ridgeville the past 44 years.
Mrs. Rak graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and taught at Lincoln Elementary for Lorain City School 24 years retiring in 1986.
One of her most unique qualities was how she drew others to herself. Everyone loved this special lady as she moved through her abundant activities saying little of herself and listening a lot. She enjoyed being active with the North Ridgeville Senior Center where she was involved with the Hope Bereavement Group. She also enjoyed bowling with friends, crocheting, reading, gardening and playing bingo.
Her marriage to Wences Rak on August 8, 1939 began a romance that lasted 63 years. They were dedicated to God, the Catholic Church and raising their family of 5 children; Barbara (Louis) Russo of Rock Hill, SC, Lawrence (Mary Kay) Rak of Avon, Norman (Linda) Rak, Connie (Patrick) Woodside and Andrew (Vanessa) Rak all of North Ridgeville. She is also survived by her beloved 12 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren along with her only surviving sister Marcella (Dennis) O’Connor of Amherst.
In addition to her Husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, John and Christine Czarney, two infant grandchildren, Lilly Batt and April Farina and 3 sisters, Dorothy Maloney, Theresa Majoras and Marie Sands.
The family will receive friends Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road N. Ridgeville where the Knights of Columbus will lead a rosary at 7 PM Monday. A Prayer service will be held 9:30 AM Tuesday in the funeral home followed by 10 AM Mass at St. Peter Church. Rev. Robert Franco, Pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery.
