Anna L. Payne, 82, Enjoyed Playing Bingo and Fishing

She was born December 10, 1930 in Camp Taylor, Kentucky and had resided in Lorain most of her life.
Anna was a member of the former Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and Our Savior Lutheran Church in Lorain where she was involved in the church Luther League.
Anna was very involved in her children’s activities serving as a Boy Scout Den Mother, serving on the PTA of Homewood School and taking her children and their friends to events or cooking meals and providing snacks for the kids.
She enjoyed playing bingo, taking trips to Las Vegas, fishing, politics and watching cable news stations. She was a staunch Democrat and was active in local politics. She sold Avon cosmetics and was an avid sports fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns.
Anna was proud of her Cherokee Indian decent. She was a loving and giving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her children William (Caterina) Payne, Jr of Durham, NC, DeAnne (Donnie) Richards of Cincinnati, Kenneth (Cheryl) Payne of Lorain, Deborah (Grant) Carroll of Scottsdale, AZ and Annette (Bruce) Schuyler of Lorain, 14 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and brother Robert (Ann) Olt of Greensburg, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband William Payne in 2004, parents Jesse and Mary Marie Johnson-Olt (nee Beams), granddaughters Jessica Payne in 2007 and Cara Payne in 2013 and brothers Jesse Johnson Jr and William Edward Johnson.
The family will receive friends Thursday 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 am in the funeral chapel. The Rev. Jimmy Madsen, pastor of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lorain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Twp.
