Sonja Karabogias, 74, Devoted Mother and Grandmother
Sonj���a Karabogias (née Topaloff), 74, of Lorain, fell asleep in the Lord Wednesday, October 9, 2013 in Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain.She was born December 18, 1938 in Lorain and was a lifelong resident. Sonja graduated from Lorain High School in 1957. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Her memory will be cherished by her daughters Betsy, Morphie and Joan Karabogias all of Lorain; son Hermes Karabogias of Lorain; sisters Mary Fotevski, Julia Stasovski both of Lorain and Alice Hester of Amherst; granddaughters Idana Jarnagin and Marisa Weidner both of Lorain.
Sonja was preceded in death her parents John K. and Julia J. (née Poszywak) Topaloff.
Her family will receive friends Friday (today) from 4 to 8 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, where Trisagion will be at 7 PM in the funeral home. Friends my all call Saturday from 10:30 AM until time of her funeral service at 11 AM in Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 2000 Tower Blvd., Lorain, Ohio. Rev. Protopresbyter Father Michael C. Gulgas, Pastor officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
