Mary C. Buri, 91, Enjoyed Shopping and Traveling

Photo of Mary C. Buri Mary C. Buri (nee Chaykowski), 91, of Lorain, died Saturday October 12, 2013 in the emergency room at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain.

She was born November 6, 1921 in Rochester, New York and had resided in Lorain for over 40 years.

Mary worked as an inspector for Eastman Kodak Company in New York retiring in 1964 after 14 � years. She also tended bar at a couple local establishments in Lorain.

Mary was a member of the former Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lorain, the church Altar & Rosary Society and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Slovak Club. She enjoyed shopping, going out to dinner, playing cards, dancing, traveling and bowling.

She is survived by her son Robert Chase of Gates, NY, one grandchild, one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews which include her devoted caregivers Marie Mahalow and Frank Malley, Debra and Tom Seronka, and Kathleen Kuhn. She was preceded in death by her son Lloyd Chase, parents Steven and Nellie Chaykowski (nee Wyshynski) and sisters Catherine DeMyda and Anna Murawski.

The family will receive friends Wednesday 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Additional viewing times will be Thursday from 10:30 am until 11:00 am mass at the Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Craig Hovanec, pastor, will officiate. Cremation will follow and the ashes will be entombed in the Resurrection Garden Mausoleum at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rochester, NY.
