Nancy M. McAllister, 83, Will be Dearly Missed

Photo of Nancy M. McAllister Nancy M. McAllister, 83 of Avon Lake passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2013 at the Lakewood Hospital with family at her bedside.

Mrs. McAllister was born in Cleveland on July 7, 1930, the daughter of the late Julius and Helene A. (nee Wagner) Siegel. She was a graduate of Lakewood High School and was a homemaker.

She was a devout member of the Avon Lake United Church of Christ, volunteered at the church's Good Neighbor Thrift Store, member of the Rachel Circle and was very active in many of her church activities.

Mrs. McAllister enjoyed dancing, watching Wheel of Fortune, short day trips, yard work and driving her friends to various appointments and church. She also enjoyed going to Athena's Restaurant and helping with preparing the menus.

She is survived by daughters Jacqueline S. (Dan) Burge of Avon Lake, Karen M. (Scott) Griffiths-McNabb of Amherst; grandchildren: Sonya Bauza, Haley Saltis, Mariah Foderaro, Jason McAllister, Heather McAllister, Jamie McAllister-McGovern and 11 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jack H. McAllister in 1974, a son Robert C. McAllister, sister Jeannie Barnwall and longtime companion Florian Paul.

Friends may call on Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 18, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Avon Lake United Church of Christ, 32801 Electric Blvd. Avon Lake, OH 44012, with Senior Pastor Dr. Kelly Brill, officiating.

Burial will be in he Lakewood Park Cemetery, Lakewood, Ohio.
