Carl F. Dye, 72, U.S. Army Veteran

Photo of Carl F. Dye Carl F. Dye, 72 of Lorain passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the Speciality Hospital in Amherst following a long illness.

Mr. Dye was born in Garrett, KY on March 10, 1941, the son of the late Fred and Carsie (nee Hughes) Dye.

He was an US Army veteran. For the past 38 years, he owned and operated Dye's Appliance Store in Lorain,. Following his discharge from the Army, he worked at American Ship Building and was a self employed auto mechanic.

Mr. Dye was a member of the American Legion Post 30 and enjoyed his collectibles, gardening, and restoration of old items.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Katherine (nee DurJava) Dye, daughters Debra A Dye, Diana L Dye, Sheri L. (Rich) Revercomb all of Lorain; sons Dennis M Dye, Dale K Dye both of Lorain, grandchildren, Misty Brown, Rickie Fitch, Jr., Taylor Dye, Dorian Dye, 5 great grandchildren, sister Frankie J. Wisniewski of Lorain, and a brother Paul B. (Tonya) Dye of Lowmansville, KY.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Mattie Dye, Virginia L Blair, and a brother Clarence E Dye.

Friends may call on Sunday, October 27, 2013 from 2-6 p.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain. Following visitation, the family will have a Celebration of Carl's Life at the Moose Lodge, 713 W. 5th Street, Lorain.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the family through the funeral home.

Burial will be private.
