Tom F. Crnko, 81, U.S. Army Veteran

Photo of Tom F. Crnko Tom F. Crnko, 81, of Sheffield Lake, died Friday October 25, 2013 at Avon Oaks Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

He was born April 6, 1932 in Lorain and had resided in Sheffield Lake for the past 48 years.

Tom graduated from Lorain High School and served with the US Army from 1952-1954. He worked at US Steel in Lorain as a carpenter retiring after 42 years.

Tom was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Lorain. He enjoyed being with his family, attending his grandchildren’s activities, playing bingo and traveling to Las Vegas.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Norma (nee Kalo), sons Tom (Sandi) Crnko of Columbus and Tim (Brenda) Crnko of Sheffield Village, loving grandchildren Timmy & Nikki Crnko, sister Josie Jankowski of Lorain, brother Frank (Olga) Crnko of Painesville and many nieces, nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mary Crnko (nee Frankovich) and brother Joe Crnko.

The family will receive friends Tuesday 11:00 am until the time of funeral services at 1:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Wayne Demarco, pastor of First United Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery in Avon.
