Violet Louise Christman, 93, Loved Flowers and Crocheting
Violet Louise Christman (née Howland), 93, of Avon went home to be with the Lord Saturday, November 16, 2013 surrounded by loved ones and under the loving care of Avon Oaks Caring Community and Crossroads Hospice in Avon.Violet was born to Murl and Dova (née Hensley) Howland on February 18, 1920 in Carter County, Kentucky. Her love of flowers showed in the beautiful gardens surrounding her home. Her love of crocheting was demonstrated in the gorgeous dolls and doilies she made. Violet was a meticulous homemaker and a excellent baker.
She leaves behind her sister Beulah Kotcamp (née Howland) of Sheffield Village; nephews James and Stanley Kotcamp of Sheffield Village; niece Sandra Reynolds (née Kotcamp) of Avon Lake; grandnephews Roger D. (Joan) Reynolds of Avon Lake and William Reynolds of Hawaii; great grandnieces Marisa and Alexa of Avon Lake and Kylie of Hawaii and other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her sister Gertrude Cartee and brothers Russell and Raymond Howland.
Her Interment service will be Wednesday (today) at 2:00 PM in Resthaven Memory Garden, 3700 Center Road, Avon. Roger Loomis, Chaplain of Crossroads Hospice will officiate.
