Juana Rivera, 64, Enjoyed Helping & Serving Others

Photo of Juana Rivera Juana “Jenny” Rivera, 64, of Lorain, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Tuesday, December 17, 2013 in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Jenny was born September 20, 1949 in Humacao, Puerto Rico. She arrived to Lorain at the age of 2. Jenny attended Lorain City Schools. She graduated from the Assemblies of God Theological Institute in Lorain. Jenny pastored along with her loving husband Reverend Juan Antonio Rivera for the past 25 years at Iglesia Manantial Pentecostal in Lorain. She was an Associate Pastor and Missionary at Iglesia Cristo Missionera, Lorain for many years. She was a former president of the Assemblies of God Eastern Region Women’s Council. She was a dedicated mother, daughter, grandmother & friend to many. Jenny enjoyed helping and serving others.

She will be deeply missed by her husband of 44 years Juan of Lorain; daughters Bethzida “Betsy” Rivera and Juanita (Joel) Orona both of Lorain; son Anthony “Toney” Garcia of Arizona; mother Juanita Garcia of Lorain; sister Lillian Matos of Lorain; brothers Frank Garcia of Lorain and Reverend Israel “Baby” Garcia of Florida; grandchildren Genesis, Isabella, and Rebecca Cupek and Juanjoel Orona and great-granddaughter Giana Parrotta.

Jenny was preceded in death by her father Francisco Garcia; brothers Benjamin, Bienvenido, and Reverend Freddie Garcia and grandson Josiah Orona.

Her family will receive friends Thursday 2 to 4 also 6 until service at 7 PM at Iglesia Manantial Pentecostal, 3501 Broadway, Lorain, where her funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 AM. Rev. Daniel Reyes pastor of New Jerusalem Church, Cleveland will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
