John L. Algarin, 44, U.S. Army Veteran
John L. “John-John” Algarin, 44, of Lorain, died Sunday December 29, 2013 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain after a short illness.
He was born May 20, 1969 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
John graduated from Admiral King High School in Lorain and served with the US Army. He worked as a truck driver for over 15 years for several trucking companies in the area.
He was a member of Tower Baptist Church in Lorain. John was a huge WWE Wrestling fan and was an amateur wrestler. He collected comic books, enjoyed singing, cooking and family functions.
He is survived by his daughters Ashley, Rebecca and Charlet, sisters Linda (John) Wyatt and Becky (Hiram) Torres, all of Lorain and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Socorro “Louie” Algarin in 1980 and Genell Algarin (nee Nelson) in 2013.
The family will receive friends Monday 10:00 am-12:00pm at Tower Baptist Church, 1331 Tower Blvd, Lorain. Funeral services will begin at 12:00pm with the Rev. Gary Dorsey, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain.
