Dennis L. Showers, 60, Enjoyed Boating & Home Renovation

Dennis L. Showers, age 60, of Elyria passed away Sunday January 5, 2014 at UH Elyria Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born in Erie, PA, and grew up in Altoona. He had resided in Elyria for the past 32 years.

His many hobbies include boating, renovating their homes, and flying RC airplanes. Dennis was recently the president of the Suburban RC Flyers group and has been an active member for many years. He was a volunteer with Big Brother & Big Sisters organization and a past treasurer with The Boys Scouts of America.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Mary M. (nee Miller) two sons, Capt. Brandon (Jamie) Showers of Marine Corps Air Station New River, NC and Sgt. Corey (Carissa) Showers of Richlands, NC, both of which are currently serving in the United States Marine Corps; sister Sandra (Ulrich) Keller of St. Simmons Island, GA.

He was preceded in death by his parents Donald L. and Marie C. (nee O’Neil) Showers.

The family will receive friends 5-8 PM Wednesday at Bogner Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville, where funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday.
Reverend Beth McKee interim pastor of Emmanuel Lutheran Church will officiate.
