Pauline C. Luca, 90, Member of the Altar and Rosary Society

Photo of Pauline C. Luca Pauline C. Luca, age 90, of Lorain, passed away on the evening of Thursday February 27th, 2014 while a resident of the Main Street Care Center in Avon Lake. Pauline was born in Lorain on August 8, 1923 and remained a life-long resident.

A graduate of Lorain High School, she had been employed for more than fourteen years in the billing department of P.C. Campana International. She had previously worked as a bookkeeper at Lorain Ready Mix.

Pauline was currently a parishioner of the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain; she had also been a long-time parishioner of the former Holy Trinity Church in Lorain where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society as well as St. Anne’s Lodge Branch # 114. Miss Luca was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Slovak Club and assisted with the weekly fish fries at the club.

She was preceded in death by her parents John S. and Mary (nee Gercak) Luca, by brothers John F. Luca, Stephen Luca, and Joseph Luca, and by sisters Anna Dzikielewski, and Mary Bednar.

Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews..

Visitation will be Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will begin Saturday at 9:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel; a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 in the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. Reverend Edward Luca, pastor emeritus of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Sheffield Village, and the nephew of the deceased, will serve as main celebrant with Reverend Craig Hovanec, pastor of the Church of St. Peter serving as concelebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
