Ann M. Vojtko, 88, �Drug Mart Lady�

She was born December 23, 1925 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Annie worked as a cashier at Discount Drug Mart on Colorado Avenue in Lorain for 24 years retiring in 2005 at the age of 79. She was known by her customers as the Drug Mart Lady.
Annie enjoyed cooking for her family. She was very proud of her Slovak dishes such as pierogie and bobalky. Family especially looked forward to her City Chicken, fried chicken and blackberry pie! She loved to bake her nut rolls, cookies and ladylocks for special occasions. She enjoyed senior trips with her girlfriends and traveling to Arizona to visit her good friend Katie Brest. Annie fulfilled a lifelong dream when she traveled to Hawaii and attended a performance by her favorite singer Don Ho. Her family always looked forward to the special souvenirs she would buy for them on her trips.
She was a member of the former Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the American Slovak Club and the Slovak Catholic Sokols. For many years, Annie assisted Father Joseph Ungarsky at Holy Trinity Church in Lorain.
She is survived by her children Elaine Barczyk of Millersburg, MSgt. John M. (Josefina) Vojtko, Jr (Ret.) of SanAntonio Texas, Robert G. (Susan) Vojtko of Strongsville and Sandra Kapucinski Dorrance (Terrance Urig) of Avon, grandchildren Jennifer Kapucinski Nemitz (Jeff) and Nicole Kapucinski (Chris Pataky), Dawne Barczyk O’Donnell (Will) , Russ Barczyk (Brigitte) and Brian Barczyk (Grace) and Catherine Vojtko, great grandchildren Brooklyn Nemitz, Ray, Madeline and Ryan O’Donnell and Alexis and Cameron Barczyk and granddogs Milo, Mia, Massie, Jeju, Lucy and Skoshi. She was preceded in death by her husband John M. Vojtko in 1981, parents John and Veronica Kolesar, sisters Marie and Helen, brother John Kolesar and niece Patricia Kolesar Hallett.
The family will receive friends Tuesday 3-7 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday at 10:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at the Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Craig Hovanec, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
