Nelson J. Kinzer, 93, Enjoyed Spending Time With Family

Photo of Nelson J. Kinzer Nelson J. Kinzer, 93, of Lorain passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the Anchor Lodge Retirement Village in Lorain following a brief illness.

Mr. Kinzer was born in Hillsboro on September 11, 1920, the son of the late Charles and Blanche W (nee Williams) Kinzer. He was a 1938 graduate of Martinsville High School in Martinsville, Ohio.

He worked as a facilities engineer at Fruehauf Trailer in Avon Lake for more than 20 years until 1968 when the plant closed. He had also been employed by York International in Elyria and the former Evans Auto Parts in Lorain.

Mr. Kinzer enjoyed gardening, Ohio State University football and most of all spending time with his family. He coached class F & class D baseball teams for several years.

He is survived by his wife Anna L. (nee Carrico) Kinzer, daughter, Diane R. (fiancee Danny Smith) Fantozzi, of Lorain, sons Dennis W. (Linda) Kinzer of Lorain, 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a great granddaughter Amanda Krajanowski, brothers Ronald, David , sisters Mary, Ruth, and Carolyn.

Friends are invited to call Friday, April 4, 2014 from 9:00 am. until a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Mary Church, corner of 8th & Reid Avenues, Lorain with Father Daniel O. Divis, officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Food Pantry, 310 W. 7th Street Lorain, OH 44052.
