Raymond O. Young, 81, Loved Watching Cleveland Sports

Photo of Raymond O. Young Raymond O. Young, 81, of Avon passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 at EMH Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

Mr. Young was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on January 26, 1933, the son of the late Melvin C. and Harriett (nee Owen) Young. He was a graduate of Lorain High School in the class of 1952. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

He worked as a advertising executive at the former Lorain Products in Lorain for 43 YEARS: retiring in 1995. He also volunteered with Cleveland Indians during training camp in Winterhaven, Florida for 10 years.

He was a member of the Lorain Kiwanis Club, Sales and Marketing Organization in Cleveland, Junior Achievement, Senior Fellowship and the former Cosmopolitan Dance Club. He loved playing golf, watching Cleveland Sports and was an avid Ohio State Football fan.

Mr. Young is survived by his wife of 57 years JoAnn R. (nee Welch) Young, daughter Jean M. (Dennis) Nolan, of Elk Grove Village, IL, sons Jeff (Carol) Young of Elyria, Scott R. (Kim) Young, of Harwich, MA, 3 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a sister Virginia Veres.

In addition to his parents he was preceded n death by sisters Dorothy Merkle, Carol Young and a brother in infancy.

Services were private with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
