Nina Poprock, 87, Enjoyed Taking Trips to Las Vegas

She was born in Lorain on March 7, 1927 and remained a life-long resident of the city.
Nina was a 1945-A graduate of Lorain High School where she had been a member of the National Honor Society.
She was employed from 1978 through 1992 as a secretary for the Domestic Relations Court of Lorain County. Previously she had worked for the Lorain Public School System.
She was a parishioner of the Catholic Church of St. Peter. In her free time she enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and watching ice skating on television. Additional interests included sewing, reading, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter Deb Poprock (Russ Leist) of Sandusky, and by sons Don Poprock (Judy) of Amherst and Jim Poprock (Sue) of Las Vegas. She also leaves grandchildren Joy, Jamie, April, Ryan, and Greg, along with eight great grandchildren and her sister Lillian McQuate of Lorain.
Nina was preceded in death by her husband Donald P. Poprock in 1985, by her parents Sebastian and Lillian (nee Monteleone) Poprock, by brothers Thomas and Carl, and by sisters Fannie Campisi and Dorothy Dembek.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 3 until 7 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel. Deacon John Slatcoff will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
