Frances Flores, 89, Enjoyed her Mexican Culture

She was born October 31, 1923 in Michoacán, Mexico. At an early age she came to Lorain. Frances helped care for her siblings when her mother died when she was 8 years old.
Frances retired in 1989 as a cook helper at Lowell Elementary School in South Lorain. She was known as Grandma to the students. She worked there for 14 years. Frances was a warm hearted woman with a great smile. She enjoyed her Mexican culture, cooking, knitting blankets for her family and sitting on the front porch of her lifelong family home listing to music.
She will be dearly missed by her sons John Flores, Michael Flores; Richard (Elizabeth) Flores and Joseph Flores all of Lorain; daughters Helen (Peter) Avalos and Marie (Michael) Williams both of Lorain; brothers Theodore Ceja of Lorain and Jessie Ceja of Yorba Linda, California; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Lupe Flores in 2005; her parents José and Esparanza (née Cortez); and her brothers Henry Ceja and Abel Ceja.
Her family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 to 8 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Friends may also call Monday from 8:30 AM until time of 9:30 AM Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Father William A. Thaden, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary cemetery, Lorain.
