Fred J. Hernandez, 66, Body-builder and Collector of Antiques

He was born August 22, 1947 in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. Fred came to Lorain in 1953. He was a 1965 graduate of Admral King High School, Lorain
Fred had just retired from Lowes home improvement store in Elyria. He worked there for 19 years. He collected antiques and enjoyed body building. Fred was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He will be dearly missed by his daughters Sophia Hernandez of Lorain and Priscilla ( John) Woodrick of Columbus, son Rico (Christina) Hernandez of Lakewood; his mother Rosa Hernandez (Née Galindez ) of Lorain; sisters Mirta (John) Remali of Sheffield Village and Edith Hernandez of Queens, New York; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Fred was preceded in death by his father Pablo C. Hernandez in April 2014.
His family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. His funeral service will be Thursday at 10 AM in the funeral home. Reverend Mark Hebebrand, associate pastor of the House of Praise International, Lorain will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
