Leo F. Theobald, 85, US Army Veteran & Loving Grandfather

Photo of Leo F.  Theobald Leo F. Theobald, Jr., age 85, of Lorain, passed away on the evening of May 4th, 2014 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain.

He was born in Lorain on December 13, 1928 and remained a life-long resident of the city.

Leo was a graduate of Lorain High School. He went on to serve in the United States Army and was a life member of Amvets Post # 47.

He was formerly employed as a technical services coordinator at NASA’s Lewis Research Center in Cleveland.

In his free time, Leo enjoyed gardening and fishing.

Survivors include his son Christopher Theobald of Brunswick, and daughters Mary Robbins (Jason) of Avon, Jean Paris of Lagrange, and Lee Ann Theobald residing in Lorain. Additional survivors include eight grandchildren, and sisters Margaret Gutkowski of Parma, and Clare Wilkins of Warrenton, Virginia.

Mr. Theobald was preceded in death by his father Leo F. Theobald, Sr., his mother Marguerite (nee Fowler) Theobald, and his son-in-law Michael Paris.

Funeral services for the family will be conducted in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. The Reverend Richard Hudak, pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery with joint military honors being conducted by VFW Post # 451 and American Legion Post # 30 both of Lorain.
