Beatrice "Bea" Sorino, 68, Devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother

Photo of Beatrice Beatrice "Bea" Sorino, 68, of Lorain, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the home of her son, Thomas.
She was born December 11, 1945 in Canonsburg, PA and attended Canonsburg schools and Canon McMillan High School. She relocated to Lorain and had been a resident here for over 50 years.

Bea was a Presbyterian and a former member of the United Presbyterian Church in Canonsburg.

The joy of her life was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and spending time with her family. They enjoyed her great cooking, especially her lasagna, which they expected every holiday. She will be greatly missed by her beloved Chug, Gotti.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory sons Anthony “Tony” and Thomas, both of Lorain, grandsons Thomas M. (Tiffany), Dominic (Cecilia), and Dimitri Sorino of Lorain, and Kevin (Lindsey) and Brittany Sorino, both of Elyria, great granddaughter Jessica Sorino of Elyria, sister Rosemary Carpetta (John) of Canonsburg, brother-in-law Robert Sorino, Sr. of Lorain, sisters-in-law Rosemarie (Larry) Oldfield and Jacqueline “Jackie” (Steve) Pintur, both of Elyria, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Anthony R. Sorino on Sept. 26, 2013, granddaughter Anastasia Jessie Sorino in 1999, parents Thomas L. and Zelma M. (nee Montigny) Powell, brother and sister-in-law Eugene T. and Kathy Powell, brother Raymond L. Powell, nephews Gerome Powell and Robert Sorino, Jr.

The family will receive friends Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel. Elder Mark Naro of the Church of Jesus Christ Restored Gospel in Lorain, will officiate. Private family burial will be held at a later date.
