Helen Elaine Mercado, 57, Enjoyed Cooking for Friends, Family, and Those in Need
Helen Elaine Mercado, 57 of Lorain went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph Lorain following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 7, 1957 in Lorain. She was a lifelong resident. She was a homemaker and mother.
Helen was a member Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. She enjoyed writing poems, cooking for friends and family, and those in need. Helen loved the Lord.
She will be dearly missed by her daughters Helen Serina Eve (Donny) Rando of Shelbyville, Kentucky, Maria Elizabeth (Brian) Edwards of London, Kentucky and Angela Rosanne (Elijah) Taylor of Hodgenville, Kentucky; sons Joseph (Christy) Franco and Steven Zebadiah Zink both of Lorain; sisters Gladys (Rudy) Solis, Margie (William) Roldan both of Lorain; brothers Ralph (Millie) Mercado, Daniel (Monica) Mercado, Martin (Debbie) Mercado, Frank (Christina) Mercado and Antonio (Anna) Mercado all of Lorain and Angel (Rebecca) Mercado of Oberlin; 12 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by parents Martin and Adolfa (née Flores) Mercado.
Her family will receive friends Sunday, May 11, from 4 to 8 PM in Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Friends may also call Monday 8:30 until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Father William A. Thaden, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
