Florence Sestli, 102, Member of the Altar and Rosary Society & the Legion of Mary

Photo of Florence Sestli Florence C. Sestili 102, formerly of Lorain passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014 in Holy Family Home, Parma following a brief illness.

She was born April 27, 1912 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Florence moved to Lorain at the age of 7. She remained a resident until 2001, moving to St. Augustine Towers Assisted Living in Cleveland. Florence moved to Holy Family Home in Parma six months ago. Florence worked for B & O Railroad. She retired from Hills Department Store, Lorain as the Toy Department Manager.

Florence was a member of St. John Roman Catholic, Lorain, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and the Legion of Mary.

She is survived by her nieces Yolanda Raker of Swanton, Rosemarie Cintron of South Euclid, Judith Ponczocha of Oberlin, Joyce Nowicki of Amherst, Rebecca Sestili of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Darla Urbanik of Lorain; Nephews Robert Rulli of Hamilton, Frank Calzone of Houston, Texas, Michael Sestili of Lorain and Walter Sestili of Hudson.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Henrietta (née Celani) Sestili; brothers Joseph Sestili, Eugene Sestili and Salvador Sestili; and sisters Mary Rulli, Rose Calzone and Jackie Varady.

Her family will receive friends Friday, May 16, from 10 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Frances Cabrini Parish, 2143 Homewood Drive (at Grove Ave., Rt. 57), Lorain. Rev. Father John C. Retar, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
