Dolores "Dee" Poli , 66, Owner and Operator of Rosie's Pizza Palace

Photo of Dolores Lorain: Dolores J. “Dee” Poli (nee Brest), 66, of Lorain, died comfortably at Mercy New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain on Tuesday May 27, 2014 after battling cancer for several years.

Dee was born March 4, 1948 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident. She graduated from Avon High School in 1966.

Dee owned and operated Rosie’s Pizza Palace in Lorain for over 40 years.

She was a member of the former Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lorain and AMVETS Post #47 Ladies Auxiliary and the VFW #451 Ladies Auxiliary, both of Lorain. She enjoyed playing bingo, bowling and her pet cats and dogs.

She is survived by her brother David Brest of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, sister Mary Carek of Amherst Township, nieces and nephews David Brest, Breanna Brest, Jeff Carek, Sam Lute, Rick Carek, Jason Lute, Tammy Stevens and Jami Nold and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Rose M. “Rosie” Brest (nee Santoro), father Vincent J. Brest and twin sister Dorothy “Dottie” Ryan.

The family will receive friends Friday 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 1:00 pm at Calvary Cemetery, 555 N. Ridge Rd, Lorain. (please meet at the cemetery).
