Elmer Jordan, 81, Machinist and Bowler Who Loved The Sandusky Speedway

Elmer Jordan, age 81, of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday June 7, 2014.

He was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania on March 23, 1933 and had been a long-time resident of Lorain.

Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a machinist for the Ridge Tool Company in Elyria for forty-five years.

Elmer enjoyed league bowling as well as watching modified and late model auto racing at Sandusky Speedway. He was also a former member of the Clearview Athletic Boosters who enjoyed following the school’s varsity football team.

He is survived by his son Jeffrey Jordan and his wife Kim residing in Columbus, as well as his daughter Lynn Hall and her husband Craig residing in Lorain. He also leaves four grandchildren, one great grandson, and his brother Donald R. Jordan of Lorain.

Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Annamae (nee Appleby) Jordan, by his brother Clarence Jordan, and by sisters Thelma Hoak and Geraldine Kezmarski.

Visitation will be Monday June 16th from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
