Edward Rafalko, 95, Avid Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns fan

Photo of Edward Rafalko Edward F. Rafalko, 95, of Lorain, died Monday July 14, 2014 in the emergency room at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain.

He was born August 8, 1918 in Natrona, Pennsylvania and had resided in Lorain since 1951.

Ed worked at US Steel, General Motors and John Hancock Insurance Company where he retired in 1984.

He loved gardening and watching the birds in his numerous bird feeders he had hanging in the front and back yards. He was an avid Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns fan.

He is survived by the love of his life Mabel (nee Roupe (Kramer)) whom he married in 1954 and would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in November, sons Kenneth (Cyndi) Kramer of Lorain and Ronald (Kay) Kramer of Delaware, OH, daughter Barb Larsen of Michigan, daughter-in-law Anna Rafalko of North Carolina and sister Helen Dende of Scranton, PA, grandchildren Missy (Mike) Folley, Brandon Kramer and Adriane (Eric) Winkler, great grandchildren Brandon Folley, Mikenna Folley and Gregory Kramer-Winkler and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Edward Rafalko, parents Frank and Clementine Rafalko (nee Ciborowski), brothers Stanley and Charles Rafalko and sister Bertha Kukowski.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday 5-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 am at Resthaven Memory Gardens, 3700 Center Rd. Avon. The Rev. Jack Ison will officiate.
