John Paul Fonseca, 56, Highly skilled mechanic who enjoyed drawing & fishing

John Paul Fonseca, age 56, of Lorain, passed away on July 16, 2014. He was born in Amherst on August 31, 1957 and had been a life-long resident of Lorain; John was a 1975 graduate of Admiral King High School.

He possessed a high degree of mechanical skills while in high school and continued to hone them into a career in auto repair. When not working on cars, he enjoyed drawing as well as fishing.

He is survived by his daughter Anna Fonseca of Sheffield Lake, by his mother Geraldine “Gerry” A. Fitzpatrick (nee Carrier) of Lorain, and by brothers Dennis Fitzpatrick and Richard Fitzpatrick (Paula) also both of Lorain.

He was preceded in death by his father Juan Fonseca, by his brother James Fitzpatrick, by his maternal grandparents John Paul Carrier and Florence Carrier (nee Quashnefski), and by his paternal grandparents Manuel and Juana Fonseca.

Visitation will be Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Deacon Jose “Tony” DeGracia, representing Sacred Heart Chapel will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
