Helen Novotny, 92, A mother and grandmother with a passion for life
Helen Novotny (nee Kropinak), age 92, of Amherst, passed into Heaven on the evening of Sunday July 27, 2014. Her love of life was passed on to everyone she met.
Helen is survived by her daughter Deborah Senko (Albert) of Amherst Township, by sons Steve Novotny (Elaine) residing in the state of Washington, and Gerald Novotny (Debbie) residing in Arizona . She also leaves four grandchildren, great grandchildren Abigail and Billy, and her sister Margaret Prexta of Westlake.
Mrs. Novotny was preceded in death by her husband Yaro Novotny in 1982, by her parents John and Mary (nee Stez) Kropinak, along with five sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Friday August 1st beginning at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral chapel, a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. in Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 333 South Lake Street, South Amherst. Reverend Lawrence N. Martello, Administrator, will serve as the celebrant.
