Joyce Balmert, 78, Beloved Grandmother and seamstress

Mrs. Balmert was born in Lorain on April 11, 1936, the daughter of the late Hector and Thelma (nee Smith) Francis. She was a graduate of Lorain High School in the class of 1954.
She worked as a seamstress at the former Joseph & Feiss Clothing Store and then as a personal seamstress for many years.
She was a member of St. Mary Church in Lorain.
She was a member of the Ladies Booster Club for the Knight's of St. John, the Lorain High School Athletic Booster Club and a poll worker for the Board of Elections.
She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Mrs. Balmert is survived by daughters Jean (Don) Meecha of North Bay, Canada, Patricia (Ted) Sas of Elyria, son, Kenneth (Michelle) Balmert, Jr. of North Ridgeville, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, brothers, Jerold (Lucy) Francis of Leesburg, Florida, sister Jean (Thomas) Ditzler of North Ridgeville, , as well as several other special nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth R. Balmert in 2013, brothers William Francis, sister Lois Ceol and her step parents Wayne and Gladys Rollason.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, August 11, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer and Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio.
A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 10:30 am in St. Mary Church, corner of Eighth Ave. and Reid Ave., Lorain, with Father Albert Veigas, pastor of St. Agnes Catholic Church, as celebrant.
Burial will be private in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville.
Memorial bequest may be left for the family at the funeral home.
