Edward G. Leach, 58, U.S. Marine Veteran

He was born in Lorain on February 28, 1956 and had been a life-long resident of Elyria.

Ed was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he fulfilled duty assignments as a Supply Administration and Operations Clerk attached to 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton, California. He held a Rifle Expert Badge, along with the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

Mr. Leach was currently employed as a general foreman with RAK Corrosion Control in Amherst and had been employed by the company for more than two decades. He was a member of the professional Painters Local # 707 in Cleveland.

He was a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast who enjoyed casino gambling, fishing, and watching old movies in his free time. His favorite pastime, however, was spending time with his family and, especially, his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-two years Elaine (nee Johnson), by sons Ryan Leach and Aaron Leach (Monika) both residing in Concord, North Carolina, and by daughters Cheryl Beachler of Elyria, Tracey (Robert) Schreur of Vermilion, and Shannon Leach of Concord, North Carolina. He also leaves five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, his brother Ronald (Rita) Leach of Fitchville, Ohio, and sisters Sandra Ritchie of Lorain and Karen (Woody) Ward of Oberlin.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents Ronald and Doris (nee Harman) Leach, and by brothers Thomas and Richard Leach.

Friends may call Friday, August 22 from 4 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 7:30 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Reverend John Kimble will officiate. Joint military services performed by VFW Post # 451, American Legion Post # 30, and Elyria Detachment # 576 of the Marine Corps League will conclude the services and visitation.
