Cheryl L. Stidham, 66, Enjoyed Playing the Organ

Cheyrl L. Stidham (nee Squyres), 66, of Sheffield Village, died Thursday September 4, 2014 at her home.

She was born October 5, 1947 in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania and had resided in the Lorain area since childhood.

Cheyrl graduated from Admiral King High School in Lorain in 1965 and the St. Joseph School of Nursing. She worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain as a Licensed Practical Nurse and at the office of Dr. Rosemary Moroni in Amherst before retiring.

Cheyrl was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lorain and the former Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lorain where she volunteered with the food pantry. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, enjoyed playing the organ and volunteered at the Methodist Village.

She is survived by her son James Stidham (Andrea) of Stow and granddaughters Grace, Claire and Emma Stidham. She was preceded in death by her husband John W. Stidham in 2004, parents William and Hazel Squyres (nee Saylor) and cousin Dick Saylor.

The family will receive friends Sunday 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 am in the funeral chapel. The Rev. Jimmy Madsen, pastor of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lorain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
