Johanna Crnobrnja, 82, Devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother

Photo of Johanna Crnobrnja Johanna “Lona” Crnobrnja, age 82, passed away on September 24, 2014 at Mercy New Life Hospice after a lengthy illness.

She was born on March 1, 1932 to her late parents Luis and Johanna Longoria in Lorain and remained a life-long resident. She was a graduate of Lorain High School Class of 1950.

“Lona” was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed working in her garden planting flowers, bushes, creating rock gardens, and raising vegetables. In her spare time she liked to go to casinos and vacationed in Las Vegas numerous times.

She was a member of UFCW Local 880 and retired from Giant Eagle Market in Amherst as a retail clerk.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Louise “Sissy” Muskiewicz.

Surviving is her husband of 59 years, Mike “Scorp” Crnobrnja, daughter Lori Crnobrnja of Grafton, sons Michael of Avon Lake, Larry (Cheryl) of Greenville, SC, Randy (Michele) of Amherst, grandsons Brian (Tenille), Andy and Adam Crnobrnja, granddaughters Michele (John) Pendleton of Kansas and Krista (Joe) Balwinski of Perrysburg, OH, brothers Louis (Marilyn) Longoria of Florida, Ronald (Peg) Longoria of Westlake, sisters Alice Kovacevich of Lorain and Lucille Bangas of Vermilion, great grandchildren Johanna Pendleton and Garren Crnobrnja.

Respecting her wishes, services were private and no visitation was held. Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain, assisted the family.

The Crnobrnja family would like to acknowledge their sincere appreciation to Mercy New Life Hospice and Denes Adult Care, Avon Lake staffs for her excellent care.
