Frank Nandori, 87, World War II Veteran

Frank Nandori, age 87, of Lorain , died Friday September 26, 2014 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Frank was born in Lorain on November 20, 1926 and remained a life-long resident of the city.

Mr. Nandori was a World War II Veteran of the United States Navy where he fulfilled duty assignments while stationed in Cuba .

Frank was employed as a production assistant at U.S. Steel Corporation’s Lorain-Cuyahoga Works retiring in 1982. He was a member of United Steelworkers’ Local 1104.

He participated in the Senior Bowling League at Rebman’s Recreation for many years. In his free time Frank enjoyed playing Keno.

He is survived by nephews James (Eleonora) Thompson of Lorain and Charles (Diane) Thompson residing in Jacksonville , Florida .

He was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor (nee Recznik) in 2010 and by his sister Elizabeth Murphy in 2014.

Friends may call Saturday from 9:30 until time of services at 10:30 a.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Reverend Peter Toth will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
