Yola P. Rozsa, 99, Enjoyed Traveling
Yola P. Rozsa (nee Phillips), age 99, of Lorain, passed away on Monday October 13, 2014 while a resident of Anchor Lodge Nursing Home.Yola was born in Lorain on February 14, 1915 and remained a life-long resident of the city.
Mrs. Rozsa was formerly employed as an administrative assistant by the Western Automatic Corporation of Elyria (now Moen Corporation); she retired in 1955 following twenty-two years of service with the manufacturer.
She was a member of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Lorain and was a member and former secretary of the Busy Martha Guild there. Yola was also a member of the Hungarian Sick Benefit Society as well as the Lorain Senior Center.
In her free time she enjoyed travel.
Survivors include her brother Sidney Phillips of Lorain along with nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alex in 2000, by her parents Steve and Mary (nee Filip) Phillips, by her brother Steven Phillips in 1978, and by sisters Margaret Nieding in 1971 and Irene Popov in 2003.
Funeral services for the family were conducted in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel with Reverend Peter Toth, pastor of the Hungarian Reformed Church presiding. Burial followed in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
