Anne Uszynski, 94, Poet

Photo of Anne Uszynski Anne Uszynski (nee Simko), 94, died in Ft Worth, Texas on October 20, 2014 after an extended illness.
Anne was born in Lorain and had lived most of her life in the Lorain/Elyria area. She graduated from Lorain High School.

She was the mother of four sons: Chet (Sandi) of North Richland Hills, Texas, James (Joanne) of Elyria, Thomas (Sandy) of Shelton, Washington and Robert (Pam) of Doraville, Georgia; grandmother of 8, great grandmother of 9 and a great great grandmother of one. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Chester A. on December 19, 1998, parents John and Mary Simko (nee Chochol), brothers John Jr and Andrew Simko and sisters Mary Zvara, Margaret Koscho, and Ruth Charneck-Sennhenn.

Anne had a love for words. With this love she created numerous works of poetry, some of which have been published. She loved to read, write poetry, paint, work crossword puzzles and travel. She was a kind, caring, generous and thoughtful person with many friends. She will be missed.

Anne was a long-time member of Ss Peter & Paul Lutheran Church in Sheffield Township.

The family will receive friends Friday November 14th from 6 until 8 pm in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in. Ss. Peter & Paul Lutheran Church, 1500 Lincoln Blvd, Sheffield Township. The Rev. Edgar Anthony, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
