Carmella T. Hambly, 96, Enjoyed Sewing & Cooking

Photo of Carmella T. Hambly Carmella T. Hambly, nee DiLillo, age 96 of Lorain, died Sunday November 2, 2014 at Kingston of Vermilion.

She was born May 26, 1918 in Lorain, and remained a lifelong resident.

Carmella worked in the dietary department of Lorain Community Hospital for 9 years, retiring in 1981. Prior to that she worked as an assembler at General Industries in Elyria for 10 years, and also worked at American Stove Works during WW2.
She is a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church, and enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening.

Carmella is survived by sons Anthony Volak of Lorain, Albert Volak of Lorain, and Bruce Hambly of Vermilion, a daughter Mary Beattie of Lorain, 6 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Antoinette DiLillo, brothers Louis and Joseph DeLillo, and a sister Mary Jenkins.

Friends may call Wednesday November 5, 2014 from 10 a.m till time of Funeral Mass at 12 Noon at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1305 East Erie Ave., Lorain. Fr. Richard Hudak will officiate with burial following in Calvary Cemetery.

Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
