Ezekiel P. Rivera, 65, Loved Gardening and Humming Birds

Photo of Ezekiel P. Rivera Ezekiel P. Rivera, age 65, of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly on the afternoon of Monday November 10th, 2014.

He was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico on March 1, 1949 and had been a long-time resident of Lorain. Mr. Rivera had previously lived in Cleveland.

He was employed as a production line worker at Ford Motor Company’s Lorain Assembly Plant; Ezekiel retired in 1997 following a career that spanned thirty years with the automaker. He had been a member of United Autoworker’s Local 425.

A member of the Church on the North Coast, Mr. Rivera enjoyed fishing and gardening in his free time. Additional interests included cars, watching Humming Birds, and taking frequent trips to the Goodwill Store.

He is survived by his son Ezekiel Daniel Rivera (Karen) of Lorain and by daughters Elizabeth Alvarez (Rick)of Lorain, Sabrina Ringold (Luther) also of Lorain, and Rachel Hope Reyes (Reverend Nestor) residing in Ottawa, Ohio. In addition, he leaves eight grandchildren, along with brothers David, Sammy, Moses, Steven, William, Juan, Pete, David, and Ray, as well as sisters Inez Serrano, Aida Perez, and Carmen Serrano.

Ezekiel was preceded in death by his wife Linda (nee Luna) in 2005, and by his parents Pablo and America (nee Pagan) Rivera.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of evening services at 7:00 p.m. in Temple Emmanuel Church – 4230 Clinton Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 am, in the church with Reverend Pedro Juan Gonzales officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
