Elaine C. Olsen, 87, Beloved Wife and Mother

Photo of Elaine C. Olsen Elaine C. Olsen, beloved wife of Armond “Bud” Olsen, passed away at her residence in Sheffield Lake on the morning of Thursday November 13, 2014 following a brief illness. She was born in Cleveland on November 12, 1927.

Elaine enjoyed many interests including bowling, golf, and playing cards with her sisters. She could never say “no” to a Dove dark chocolate bar or a dish of Ruggles Moose Tracks ice cream. She possessed a heart as big as the world and the world just couldn’t hold it.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her loving children Jacqueline (Dale) Kocik, Glen (Queenester) Olsen, and David Olsen, along with five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and sisters Pat Colston, Jean Koenig, Barbara (Philip) Zachefsky, and Bonnie (Wesley) Norris. Additional survivors include her brother-in-law Harland (Yoko) Olsen, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Clara (nee Karp) Eiben, by infant daughter Deborah, by her sister LaVerne Chester, daughter-in-law Tammie Olsen, sister-in-law Kay Olsen, and brothers-in-law Raymond Chester, Roy Colston, and Henry Koenig.

Funeral services will be Saturday November 22nd at 11:00 a.m. in the Sheffield Lake United Church of Christ – 603 Sunset Avenue, Sheffield Lake. Reverend Bill Brunner will officiate. Burial will take place later in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel.
