Phyllis M. Leimbach, 80, Loved To Go On Walks
Phyllis M. Leimbach, 80, (nee Borer) of Amherst passed away on Thursday morning, November 13, 2014 at the Mercy-New Life Hospice Center at St. Joseph following a brief illness.
Mrs. Leimbach was born in Amherst on April 26, 1934, the daughter of the late Philip E. and Anna M. (nee Moore) Borer. She was a graduate of Vermilion High School. Pursuant to her love of children, she worked as a day care worker and for 19 years drove a school bus for the Amherst Village Exempted School District.
She loved to go on walks, shopping and spending time with grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She loved her dog, Shila.
Mrs. Leimbach is survived by her daughter Yvonne (David Sullivan) Santiago of Amherst, grandchildren Jamie, Jacob, Eric, Christian, step grandchildren, Katie, Shawn, and Brendan, several great and great great grandchildren,sisters Dorothy Hirbe of Amherst,Delores Brada of Elyria and a special cousin Joan (Lonnie) Lauter of Cleveland..
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband David O. Leimbach on June 12, 2010, daughters Bonnie Zimmerman in 1985, Linda Santiago in 2010, a sister Gladys Dornberg and a brother Wallace Hall.
Services will be private.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Friendship Animal Protective League, 8303 Murray Ridge Rd, Elyria, 44035.
The Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, assisted the family with arrangements.
