Doris Mae Septaric, 89, Avid Puzzle Solver
Doris Mae Septaric (nee Hallgren) 89 of Lorain passed away peacefully in her home Tuesday, November, 18 2014 under the care of her daughter Mary, who lovingly stayed at her side. Doris passed holding her hands.
She was born April 9, 1925 in Lorain. Doris was a lifelong resident of Lorain. She was a graduate of Lorain High School class of 1943B. Doris worked as a bookkeeper at J. C. Penny, Co. in Lorain for 5 years. Doris was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Parish and the former St. Vitus Croatian Catholic Church. Doris was a collector of religious figurines, especially angels. Doris was an avid puzzle solver, and always had a puzzle book at her side. Her best buddy Solar a German Shepard was also at her side for past 7 years and already misses her greatly. Solar was also with her when she passed. Doris was an award winning competition dance skater at the Coliseum Ballroom, Lorain where she met her future husband and fell in love.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter Mary Therese Septaric, of Lorain; sons Jeff (Julie) Septaric, Greg (Debbie) Septaric and Ron Septaric all of Lorain, Richard (Linda) Septaric of Elyria and Michael (Sherry) Septaric of Port Clinton; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; and a brother Carl (Faye) Hallgren of Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Doris was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 year Frank Septaric in 2004; her brother Harold Hallgren and her grandson Frankie Septaric in 2013.
Her family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 8 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Her funeral service will be Friday with closing prayers in the funeral home at 10:30 AM., then funeral mass at 11 AM in Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish, 2143 Homewood Dr. (Grove Ave. and Homewood Dr.) Lorain Ohio. Rev. Father John C. Retar, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Ely
