Marian T. Zeise, 86, Enjoyed Bowling & Traveling

Photo of Marian T. Zeise Marian T. Zeise (nee Balmert), 86, of Lorain, died Thursday November 20, 2014 at Center Ridge Nursing Home in North Ridgeville after a lengthy illness.

She was born September 1, 1928 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Marian graduated from Lorain High School with the class of 1946 B. During the 1960’s, she worked at Lorain Printing.

Marian was an active member of the Knights of St. John Ladies Auxiliary #314 in Lorain. She served as president of Knights of St. John Ladies Auxiliary #46 for many years and organized Friday night and Tuesday afternoon bingo at the Knights hall. She enjoyed league bowling and served as the secretary of several bowling leagues in the Lorain Women’s Bowling Association.

Marian enjoyed traveling and organized many charter trips to Las Vegas, Hawaii and the Virgin Islands. She enjoyed playing bingo, pinochle and sixty-six.

She was a member of the former St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lorain and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lorain.

She is survived by her sons: Donald Zeise and Thomas Zeise, both of Lorain and Steven Zeise (Theresa) of Grafton, daughter-in-law Ruth Ann Zeise of Amherst, 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, brothers Justin DiMacchia (Jeannie) of Texas, Richard DiMacchia (Rosemary) of Lorain and Timothy DiMacchia (Natalie Neal) of Amherst, sister Nancy Marovich (Ken) of Maumee and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years Donald R. Zeise in 1988, son Gregory R. Zeise in 2004, sister Gerry Vormelker, father John Balmert, mother Marie Balmert-DiMacchia (nee Pooh) and stepfather John DiMacchia.

The family will receive friends Monday 9:00 am until 10:30 am at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 310 8th St, Lorain. The Rev. James Becherer will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
